We had 44 girls attend our conference in July! Friday evening was full of laughter and fellowship as the girls played games, painted tote bags, enjoyed handcrafted ice cream from Bella Hana's Ice Cream & Pastry Shoppe, worshiped our Lord, and got to know each other. It was a super fun evening, and let's just say nobody got that much sleep :). Then, on Saturday we had a slow morning with coffee, breakfast, and more fellowship! The girls got to enjoy some fun drinks from Seek First Coffee Co (their banana bread latte is UNREAL!!) as their small group leaders prepared their hearts and minds for the message later that morning.
For our main message, Dr. Stephanie Wick, our main speaker, gave a phenomenal presentation describing the difference between "roles" and "identity". The message ended with the girls writing down something they thought God had messed up on - a lie they believed about themself - and then throwing that lie in a suitcase to be sent far, FAR away. Dr. Wick then had the girls write down a Truth that God says about them. Truths like, "I am chosen", "I am loved", and "I am wonderfully made". It was truly a moving experience, and it was evident the Spirit was working in the girls' hearts.
Throughout the day on Saturday the girls heard three testimonies of God's grace, and they had the opportunity to visit four breakout sessions of their choice. The breakout session topics included: joyful servitude, body image, peer pressure, serving God in your youth, being called to creativity, and dating, waiting, and everything in between, which was available for 7th and 8th grade only.
Overall, it was a beautiful, Spirit led weekend, and with it being our first conference, we are so appreciative of your support!
